Why Purpose Is Really What You're Searching For

The very fact that you’re reading this is proof that you’re a curious, ambitious person.

There’s something inside of you that wants to improve. If you’re like most of us you

spend a lot of waking hours trying to figure out how to get it. Trying to figure out what

direction to go in that will make you “successful.”

A new hustle that’ll be ‘the one.’ that will make all your problems go away and change your life forever. And let’s be real, that thought of success if probably tied to money and materialism.

“Money makes the world go round” as they say. So naturally you’ve been taught that to have value, you need to have money.

And tbh, there’s nothing really wrong with wanting to have a lot of money. Everyone has their reasons for the things they want to achieve.

You determine the life you want to live.

But what if I told you you’ve been taught things out of order.

Your beliefs about success probably goes like this:

Money → Happiness → Success,

when the real formula is:

 Purpose → Value → Happiness→ Success.

Notice how I left money out? It’s because money should never be the end goal. You probably say “well we all need money” and you’re right. But the truth is money is a byproduct of providing value.

And value comes from having a purpose:

A reason why that serves others.

Throw away the get rich quick schemes and really get in tune with who you are and what your interests are.

Then figure out how you can use that to provide value to someone else.

If you’re lost about what that might be, take some time and strengthen the relationship that you have with yourself because intuitively you know it.

It’s the thing you’re naturally interested in, or maybe something that comes easy to you.

Or Maybe you have unique knowledge in an area, or a special skill or gift that just comes naturally to you.

It doesn’t have to be some revolutionary invention that changes the world. It doesn’t matter how “crowded” the market is. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You just have to pick an area, be consistent and provide value.

Start thinking in terms of Purpose and Value. They say money makes the world go round, but does it really?

Value makes the world go round.

Money is just the item everyone agrees to pay for that value.

Once you find your purpose and get into the value marketplace, money WILL follow.

Remember that having a ‘WHY?’ will bring you contentment and a reason to get out of bed in the morning. After a while, the shine of material items wears away. That new car, those new shoes.

Once you figure out that the money won’t fill the void, you’ll realize that purpose does.
